Content Marketing Trends for 2021
Being the Marketing Geeks that we are, we thought it best to share our expertise on how you can gear up your marketing game in 2021. We'll be taking you through six of the biggest content marketing trends there are, and get you well on your way to levelling-up your own marketing.
With a focus on generating more leads for our clients, and increasing their productivity and efficiency - it's safe to say that we really are geeks when it comes to this...
1. Build Content Communities
Whether it's content for social, your blog, podcasts, or a webinar, you should continue focusing on making your audience feel like a community. Evidently, people love a sense of community belonging - it makes them feel valued and appreciated. By developing a community with a strong social experience between like-minded individuals, with relevant, on-going engagement, you enhance the trust between you and them tenfold. Quite simply, this trust leads to loyalty - increasing retention in relationships, whether that be existing or prospective clients.
A great way to maintain content flow within your business community is through the power of Email Marketing and Automation. Target your community efficiently by email with valuable and relevant content to further enhance your customer and prospect relationships.
2. Improve Content Experience
Drive better content with outstanding content experience. We can all agree that the number one goal is to keep visitors on your website for as long as possible, and keep those bounce rates low. You want your users to love what you write about, find exactly what they’re looking for, and enter the sales funnel as quickly as possible.
It's important to remember however, that visitors appreciate transparency, honest advice and quite simply... answers to their questions. Pre-empt the concerns and problems your visitors will have and address them. By addressing the doubts, you diminish them. Instead comes trust from knowledge and clarity that you're providing to the customer. Don't be scared to address the elephants in the room - if you don't, your competitors will.
3. Go Live with Video and Webinars
Last year saw the shift of events from in-person to virtual, meaning that video and webinar content has become even more important. Consumers want to get information/learn quickly, and there’s no better way to do so than with the help of video marketing.
4. Double down on SEO
High quality SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) will continue to be a critical piece for content marketing in 2021. Niche and longtail keywords to create engaging content will be the ultimate goal. Undoubtedly, blog articles are a fantastic tool to start with for all things SEO, but it's no secret that rolling out masses of content on a regular basis, can be very time consuming indeed.
This is why we abide by the wisdom of Web Stories, an extension of Google's open-source technology project, AMP (Accelerated Mobile Pages). Web Stories are a visual storytelling format for the open web, that allow readers to immerse in a tappable, full-screen content that is fast, open, and user-first.
Web Stories are a simple way of conveying valuable content, whilst still improving your SEO rankings (without having to write those lengthy blogs!). Intrigued? Learn more about Web Stories here.
5. Focus on your Products and Services
Laser-focus on products and services means more attention to content at the bottom of the funnel, specific to key buyer personas and closely related to the product or service offering, to gain a better understanding of content ROI.
6. Repurpose content across channels
With an emphasis on creating engaging content with fewer resources, it makes sense that next year will bring a bigger focus on repurposing content across channels. When you’re spending time and effort to create high-quality, engaging content, you want to share it with as many people as possible. The best way to do that is to repurpose.
